I would like to wish everyone Happy Halloween! My youngest is out trick-or-treating tonight. She has been advised that this will be her last year since she will be 12 soon. I have already had about 15 kids show up at my door and it is not even completely dark outside yet. I am expecting a big turnout this year due to the economy being so bad. It seems like there are less community events and Halloween parties for the kids this year due to the lack of money, so I expect more kids than usual to hit the neighborhoods. I also expect that fewer houses will give out candy, so those that are giving will be hit hard. I hope I have enough. I have over 10 pounds of candy to give out.
Did your kids dress up and trick-or-treat this year? I miss having little ones that I have to walk around with. I always liked to see which neighbors decorated and who had haunted houses set up in their garage. I remember going out when I was young. We walked for miles. I would always come home with a pillow case full of candy. How does your family celebrate Halloween?
***It turns out that my prediction was wrong. Less kids overall trick-or-treating. I still have over 5 pounds of candy left. I guess the kids will be on a sugar rush for the next month.
