My son received his learner's permit for driving this week. I took him out yesterday for his first drive. We have a park on the west side of town that is huge but rarely used during the day. We went there and he drove for about 30 minutes or more. He did well and only scared mom once.
I still can't believe that my son is learning to drive. It seems like not too long ago he was in kindergarten. They grow up son fast. To think that he will be off to college in 3 years is heartbreaking. In the meantime though, I guess we have more driving lessons to complete.
The first one is difficult. For 3 mos. I rode w/my feet braced against the dash board... 2nd child easier cuz she saw the mistakes the oldest made.. 3rd was the one that gave me stress lines... took him almost 3 X to pass the written... and 3X for the driver's ... jeez, guess my eggs were almost kaput?
ReplyDeleteI thought teaching the to drive was sooo scary. And think maybe my boys thought so too:) The worst is when they get their license and you let them drive off!
ReplyDeleteIf he drove for 30 minutes and only scared you once? I'd say that was a pretty good ratio. :)
